    ... that has the beach on one side and the casinos and shops on the other. At 7.30 pm all of the shops were closed, half of the casinos were boarded up and only a few people were walking around.

    I can't say that AC was ever a great place, as compared to the mega casinos and hotels in Asia the place is a dump. I'm sure however that in its time it was considered exciting but it sure is an ugly place. One street back from the strip and you find yourself in ...

    ... to Atlantic City, but I was really not impressed with what was there. The tourist area was minimal and there were no souvenir shops as far down as I walked. The only thing available to me was a shopping mall along the beach where most of the stores had closed so it looked minimal. There were also restaurants and Casinos, but really, I had no desire to waste a fortune trying to score big.

    ... the 100 mile plus shoreline are quite varied.

    I have some mixed feelings about the Jersey Shore, though. For one thing, almost the entire distance is heavily developed . A stretch of Long Beach Island State Park is about the only exception.
