    ... and staying overnight in a town called Princess Anne (West of Ocean city),in Maryland and still daylight.
    A particularly green State, dotted with corn fields since leaving the ferry.

    I put only a small selection of "lovely old lady homes" in the blog - there are a few more just on the slideshow, that I could not resist leaving out.

    ... was horrific. The traffic was congested and we altered our route to get off route 30. Luckily we had our audio book and learned more about the War of 1812.

    Even after a great get-away, it always feels so good to get home again to our beloved Cape May.

    The happiest creatures here were the birds and Stephen and I spent some time watching their breakfasting antics. Seafood was definitely on the menu! The seagulls-which are twice the size of Aussie seagulls- would get a clam from the ocean, fly up with it and then drop it from a height, before descending directly down like a parachute ...

    ... and learned about the Coast Guard festival coming up in a few weekends (just missed it!). It was wonderful to spend time catching up with Heather, while the waves crashed along the shore. The tall grasses and sand dunes are just like Cape Cod - it's easy to understand what drew them to this small Victorian town.

    After much deliberation, we settled on the Blue Pig Tavern at Congress Hall for a delicious dinner in a cozy setting (see picture below).

    ... as possible and were able to sacrifice weight for comfort, as we are car camping, not backpacking. Initially Gwen wanted a cot, but after finding this pad we thought we'd give it a try. It has a memory foam upper and really feels nice. The only things I'm concerned about is that when tested it at home it seemed to fill up inconsistently, being a little wider on one side than the other. Perhaps this sorts itself out when you lay on it, but ...
