After we had a bit of lunch the day was looking so much better that we decided to take the cable car up to Schwartzsee, 2583 meters, and walk around. This is the route that climbers of the Matterhorn take to hike to the Hornli Hutte, where they usually spend ...

... the vans and drove to a train station where the vans were driven (with us inside) onto a car train ferry which travelled through a mountain to Tasch where we unloaded the vans, left them in a parking area and caught a train to Zermatt. Here a hotel porter stashed the bags into an electric car and we were able to walk to the hotel unencumbered to arrive at our incredible accommodation used by Captain's Choice Tours. The Chalet Hotel Shonegg is just beautiful. ...

A beautiful day after a cold night in the tent. Fairly uneventful day albeit with more of the walking up and down the side of the valley than I would like. On the plus side I am not having anything like the difficulty in getting food as I had in France. Any weight loss which occurred is going to be reversed and then some.
