Cabo de Santo Agostinho, Pernambuco, Brazil rese_ma... way to Recife. 3.5 hours later we arrived in Recife, but the bus took a route we didn't recognize, and we started to get worried that he won't be going to Tipi (Central bus station in Recife). Our worries were in vain, as it finally pulled off in Tipi, and we went on to ask Tourist Information station people how to get to the Hostel we reserved. We were instructed to take the metro to it's last stop, then take a bus to Boa Viagem, but they didn't know exactly where. Not ...
Recife, Brazil oren.sharvit... road at the outskirts of town and we had to go back a few km's to the center of town. When we got there a local offered us to drive us to Pipa for 40 Reals, which is about 82 NIS... we thought it was expensive, but the lonely planet guide we had with us (the book not a person :-) ) said it's fair price. So we took the guy for what we thought would be a 10 minute ride (even though we couldn't see any sea or beaches from where ...
Recife, Brazil oren.sharvit... chicken, pork, fish, and seafood to choose from. Not to mentioned a large dessert buffet with lots of regonal goodies, and another new favorite for Erin - fried bananas with cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on top. After a huge meal, Leonardo took us on a driving tour of Recife and Olinda, complete with a full history of each church/monument. Did you know that the small ...
Recife, Brazil ruggersinbrazilwoke up later yesterday and decided to lazily take a day trip to porto do gallinhas an hour or two away from recife. ended up on a beach drinking...of course and domino playing and eating grilled cheese off of a cart. really, why leave a place like this? we decided to stay the night. met a few american boys (our first american's of the trip) and had a fun evening out. they told us of their adventures all over the world with meritime boat crews, how fun. woke up the next ...
Recife, Brazil emily_sarahPorto de Galinhas is a small beach town about 1 hour S of Recife, on the NE coast of Brazil. There are no high rises here but there are plenty of posadas, or guest houses in the area. I spent 5 nights and 4 days in this quiet town. I wish the weather cooperated a bit more but when it wasn`t raining, I was either surfing, relaxing on the beach, swimming, going on a dune buggy ride or ...

The other attraction is dune buggy rides to the many beautiful beaches of Muro Alto which has a natural wall breaking the waves which runs all the way to Recife some 2 hours away (see the pics)and Maracaipe beach where surfing championships are held (see pics).
Porto De Galinhas, Brazil livingthedream... 30-foot tree, I definitely didn't know how to come down. I figured a brisk walk to the store was all the more adventure I needed before breakfast. ITEM 4 - EAT BREAKFAST. After all, it was enough of a challenge just finding a spoon in Porto de Galinhas. My energy for the day came from 2-litres of ice cream mixed with Snickers and Oreo-like cookies. ITEM 5 - SNORKEL AT PORTO DE GALINHAS. I stumbled upon a section of coral in deep water, where the reef stuck out at the top, making it ...
