Sihanoukville, Cambodia rien... beach called Small but Sweet which did fantastic kebabs on the bbq, the king prawns were delicious.

On our last day we met a small boy who was 10 years old who was selling fruit. He was a real cutie with the biggest smile and we all went swimming. The kids are really affectionate and so friendly, so of course we bought a big bag of his fruit.

After 2 days we jumped back on a bus and headed to Siem Reap.
Sihanoukville, Cambodia kimandluke... back, when i said no for the goodness knows what time i was promptly told i was ugly :)
The kids will just not stop and are annoying and rude ( the best way is to put your ipod on and close your eyes - ie don't look or listen to them)
Or go for a beach run - good run here as the beach is long and kids couldn't catch me.
Sihanoukville, Cambodia swallowp... some time at Angkor Wat.

We also visited a fair-trade silk farm, which harvests the worm and creates products with the silk. The process is really amazing, from the worm all the way to a scarf. Some items take 1 day, like a simple scarf, where something like a roll of fabric (100 meters) will take up to 2 months! And how they create brocades and designs in the silk is amazing.

We also visited a river community on Tonle Sac Lake. I can't tell ...
Sihanoukville, Cambodia michellemaWhat was meant to be a 3-4 day stopover in Sihanoukville quickly turned into a full week here. Our friend Phil, who we met in Vang Vieng, Laos... and then ran into in Phnom Penh.. decided to come join us and our beachside relaxation morphed into beachside drinkfest (sorry mom.) There is one main 'party' beach called Serendipity and it's lined with outdoor bars and clubs, serving draft beer at $0.50 and everything else relatively cheaply as well. The only expensive thing here is ...
Sihanoukville, Cambodia oandm... computer games on the cinema sized screen. How good is that? We played the football game FIFA 09 and watched The Big Lebowksi in all it's cinematic glory. And there are more bars and restaurants than you can shake a KFC chicken stick at. On our second night in Sihanoukville we decided that it should be my birthday just in case we could get any free extras. Not a lot came our way until the final bar where they shouted for all people whose birthday it was to come to the dance ...
Sihanoukville, Cambodia dantheeducator... ie hour longer than normal), and so we had to come back later on to watch the ending.
After that Man Utd were playing Everton in the FA Cup Semi Final (don't want to talk about it)...But why can't we a) beat Everton, and b) why put Ferdinand and Vidic in as penalty-takers when you have Scholes and Tevez still to take!!!!! **** Fergie!

Anyway.... we'd booked tickets to Phnom Penh at 7am so we got an early night. I got up in time to pack and be ready for the pick up ...
Shianoukville, Cambodia comedyad... of the Khmer people is incredible. We're now down on the beaches of Sihanoukville, relaxing with lovely seafood and 50 cent beers on the beach. The hustling on the beach is intense. We timed it, and figured that you can't go more than about 3 minutes between being asked to buy something. It occasionally has some good humour value - for example when Lach got his nipple pinched for not buying a bracelet, hee hee.
Sihanoukville, Cambodia esthermiddleton... needless to say, a long stretch of clean white sands and clear water. We weren't that far from a place a little back that had hawkers offering cold drinks and cocunuts. Hawkers ambling up and down the 'populated' area weren't that easy to avoid, either, but the experience of a once in a while quiet beach, was well worth it. A world away, really! He was occupied contentedly with his nose stuck in a book while I took prolonged dips in the ...
Sihanoukville, Cambodia supremacy... freshly caught that day. The pineapple and coconut shakes are the best I have ever tasted and for this alone I could easily go back to Sihanoukville.

There is no real night life to write about, a few of the bars on the beach play music. There is no particular one that stands out. Every night that I was in town I bar hopped. I had some really good nights dancing to cheesy pop. On the whole Sihanoukville does not have a thriving night life compared to Thailand. If this is what ...
