... only one lady actually, we'll give them a break.

The main event of the week was the buildup to halloween - a huge affair state side - like almost on a par with christmas in terms of decorating houses with lights and all the adverts in shops for candy and pumpkins etc! Amazing to see and there is definitely excitement in the air leading up to the big trick or treat night. We certainly added to the excitement as this was our first real halloween experience ever and ...
Tampa, Florida, United States theblakes... the airport too because there wouldn't be enough room for everyone's luggage. But, they were only going to a nearby convention center. We were the only two to go to the airport. We got to the airport on time and had to wait almost an hour in line to check-in and then make our way through security. Of course, we had to peruse the duty free shop prior to boarding. Conrad purchased a bottle of anise (YUCK!) and we got some snacks to use up the ...
Tampa, Florida, United States thematts... is like. It has very sociable outdoor areas. I love the fountain and Conrad likes the outdoor shower (does this surprise anyone!?). We will be headed to the airport shortly. Fly from Tampa to Miami. Wait in Miami for 2 hours, then fly 9 hours to Madrid. It will be 7 am on October 4th by the time we get there.
Tampa, Florida, United States thematts... sort of agrees, but it will require more dog proofing b/c he's so small he can get under stuff.
We finally made it to Gram's Place at 1030 pm. I was tired. We stayed in the Blues Room. We met a lovely couple from Sweden currently living in Jacksonville. Conrad stayed up with them and drank beers while I went to bed.
Tampa, Florida, United States thematts... drink cart repeatedly smash into ones elbows and ankles by a driver that uncannily gives off the vibe of an elementary school cafeteria woman asking whether you want the goulash or the macaroni surprise. Ew. As for food, no lunch lady carts there either. The flight attendants actually carried the snacks in baskets. I was impressed with the variety of both drink and food. From Dunkin Donuts coffee to Arizona Tea and Terra Blue Chips to 100 Calorie packs of ...

Saint Petersburg, Florida, United States marykuch47... I will be meeting up with Paul (the guy I've been talking to who runs the program down there), and I assume from there we will be traveling together up to San Rafael National Park so I can settle into my new home. That's the plan anyways...I should have internet at the place I will be staying so I will update you on how everything went when I get there. Bye
Saint Petersburg, Florida, United States linny495... Day , New year's Eve we will only confirm a dinner reservation with a credit card guarantee, allowing guests to cancel up till 7 days prior to the date, without any Penalty. Currently we also have a stringent cancellation policy for parties of 20 or more, pre-set menus, special groups, catered events, so maybe we will have to get on the bandwagon and also implement, for groups of 6 or more a policy that can be adhered to and that benefits us all. Something to consider.
Saint Petersburg, Florida, United States pawelek... you have to have a safety drill before you can start your vacation. This was the first of many that I would participate in, but it was relatively painless. Other than the fact that I looked like a complete idiot with this life jacket on! Just as soon as the drill was over, the ship was moving. We went to the deck to watch the land fade away and my first cruise had officially begun!
