... to have unsuitable weather. Still, I likely wouldn't have gone down to the beach anyway, so I can't complain (although the wind is giving me wild gypsy hair).

Our walking tour started just feet from our hotel at St. John church, a cruciform church with a chimney-like dome built … erm, absolutely eons ago. It's now used as an art gallery and was never actually consecrated. We then stopped in front of the similar-looking medieval church ...

Our morning started with a drive through the Balkan Range. There are fields and copses and acres of sunflowers, all with their heads bowed, and then suddenly a small, depressing village where dogs guard junk yards and other places that you can't imagine anyone even wanting to break into. Progress was slow because the road surface is not great, there are lots of corners and the road markings are limited or obscured by vegetation. In addition to the high volume of cars there are usually a lot of trucks on the road. We were lucky not to have this (maybe a Saturday is a good day to travel?) However we did ...

... me because instead of Bulgaria, today's trip would be to a hospital to make sure I was alright. Have you ever tried explaining a puppy you don't wanna play?
So what did I do most of the morning? Tried to run away (literally!) from two wild puppies. And you know what friends do when they see you running for your life? No, they don't help you, not at all. They ******* take pictures! :D :D

We left after a quick ...
