... and anecdotal stories I jabber on about while on the road. It is a thing for our friends and family - and it is not serious.

So my predicament arose... how could I go to Auschwitz and write about it lightheartedly in this blog? Worse, how could I never mention we were there? How do I take the solemn experience of Auschwitz and put it in this goofy-ass blog?

Well, I don't know how to do it actually. I will just digress from goofiness for ...

... Balint, my car guy, decided that we should leave the snow tires on the Opel until we get back from this trip since the weather is "uncalculable". Given that this is the second day with snow, he is correct. Clearly now that I am back in the homeland, my "snow god" powers have returned. Fortunately, it was a low-accident morning and the doctor on duty, my high school friend, quickly assessed the situation. I was given ...

We were supposed to leave Głubczyce today but Ania and Marek were still trying to get out of Cieszyn's and so we will have to wait for them till tomorrow morning. Bummer!

I didn’t get more than 4 hours of sleep, yet at 7 a.m. my body was ready to jump out of bed. My mind wasn’t though… Coffee helped some but it wasn’t until I found one last chocolate in my birthday box, that I was finally mentally awakened. Chocolate IS good for ...

    Shopping and Shooting

Our last day in Głubczyce is always reserved for shopping at the outdoor market. For me, not as much shopping as taking pictures because attractions like that have not survived in many places. Local farmers bring their produce every Tuesday and Friday, and the rest of the vendors are there all week long. You can buy almost anything at the market, from food to underwear, while catching a conversation with a merchant from ...
