... to San Marino this morning was in bright sunshine and quite warm as we didn't leave the hotel until 10am. We decided to ride via the Autostrada on the way to San Marino and take the more scenic route home after our visit. ... beach snob, having grown up with Ocean City nearby and having lived in Cape May and St. Kitts, but it just doesn't feel like beach to me without salt air. That's like a fundamental requirement to me. Without that, it's just "the lake" or something.

Another thing that we are noticing in Greece is how everything shuts during the off-season. Thankfully, all the museums, etc are open, but campgrounds and tourist-focussed shops are closed. Even a lot of eateries are shut. This could turn out be a bit of a problem for us.
