... however, the surrounding countryside is pretty - vineyards everywhere and distant snow covered mountains. We detoured to Desenzano on the banks of Lake Garda. Clearly a summer holiday town but a beautiful town situated on the shores of a huge lake. The water is crystal clear. Well from the outside of city there is a breathtaking view of the upper town but once you are in it I woudn't say the same. Still there is plenty to see wandering around the streets and lots of lovely churches to explore. But it's definitely not the best medieval town in Italy.

... right next to Duomo, I'd recommend the ground floor for buying various designer products. We ended up in Excelsior as well which is also a department store only for street style lovers I guess. It was a bit too much kenzo for us so we left using the glass lift.   I'd definitely love to come back to Milan to spend some more time exploring the city because I know there is a lot left to do there.
