... from Townsville). The 1st stop would be Airlie beach.
19/5
Arrived at Airlie beach on the Conway NP peninsula after an allday drive from Townsville. This area is the main way into the 'Whitsunday' Islands. The town itself is obviously a great attraction to backpackers and thereby highly commercialized. We actually saw a large hoarding publicising the revenue target of 1 billion dollars from tourism in the region by 2012. Needless to say they got nothing from us ...
... top bunk, woke me up by shouting at me that I was to let her know when those two were finished and stormed out of the room. Suffice to say we changed rooms the morning. However our new room was right above the smoking area of the bar and we had to listen to people's load conversations all night so it was a relief we only booked two nights in Coolangatta and we were raring and definitely ready to leave.
Coolangatta, Queensland, Australia simonpullen... never been. I love the irony of two Americans fresh off the plane telling natives about the wonders of their own national park in Springbrook. After hiking in another location to another waterfall we hit the roads back to the beaches. On the way we stopped for some drinks at a McDonalds of all places and I asked the girl for a medium decaf coffee. At first glance it appeared she was taking great care to process my order ...
Coolangatta, Queensland, Australia atlpilot36... forward paddle, forward paddle" which we were supposed to do vigorously and in unison. Keep in mind, we have a 9 and 11-year old in the boat paddling too. Well, all the work was worth it when we'd finally catch a wave and ride it in. Of course it wasn't that simple, because the waves aren't very forgiving, and they are quite a bit bigger than our little boat. So, we'd have to listen and quickly respond to commands to lean left or ...

Coolangatta, Australia holz_g... here and in England) but it's turning out to be way too expensive. You have to have a certain amount of points to gain residency so I would have to do a trade course, my options are to be either a chef or a hairdresser. Let's be honest.. neither of those are going to work for me! Plus it was going to cost me $20k and I could only work for 20 hours per week so after paying rent, for food, phone etc, I was looking at living off $100 a week.. again.. aint gunna ...
Surfers Paradise, Australia littlewiggle... We left Nimbin a little bemused by our experiences & well not all there, we were told to take the scenic route out of town & back to Byron as a drive past the waterfalls was worth the longer drive. However driving through the Australian countryside without a map, no road signs & any sense of direction, we soon became lost, very lost. What should have been a 2 hour drive turned into a 4 hour giggling contest, maybe ...
Byron Bay, Australia moterz... get more of it when you dive at deeper depths, so you get a lot more nitrogen that you would usually get. You expend most of the excess nitrogen during the process of the dive, but not all of it, and its common for divers to feel very tired after diving, particularly if they've done more than one dive per day, we found out. I was doing the SSI course with another British girl called Charlotte, who cracked me up. On the first couple of ...
Byron Bay, Australia emmaireland... we're not hippies we still had a lot of fun there. The day before we had to leave Byron Bay a light on our dashboard in the car went on.. We found out that there was an altornater problem (wich would cost us 400 dollars = 2000 kr.), but luckily when we went to the mecanic the following day, they found out that a rubber band was missing, so it would be up and running in a couple of hours and only cost us 50 dollars.
