... to a beautiful day. Still, warm and sunny so after breakfast we set off along the coastline on our bikes to Arcachon. It's all very beautiful with the beach running the distance and the locals and people of Bordeaux making the most of a beautiful Sunday. Many were already on the beach sunning themselves. We rode about 18 km to get to the end of the cycle lane till you can ride no more and its certainly a playground to enjoy the beach scene. ...

... ready to crawl, and have now returned to the hotel where we will have a quick dinner and get some sleep prior to the start of cycling tomorrow. Steve and I are planning to start early early to try to avoid at least some of the rain.

The idea is to get into Spain today or tomorrow (depending how many beers I have) and get to explore the Basque Country. It's already apparent, the signs are in Spanish here as well and paella is on the menu in most restaurants - mmmmm!
Had a lovely chat with Jilly last night and it's looking good for a meet-up soon. She's promised to show me the ropes with the Tapas bars of northern Spain so bring it ...

... s now 00.31 and I'm done typing this drivel. I expect you all gave up reading a long time ago anyway. So, to summarise, it's going really well, and I'm having the best time . It's so liberating not knowing what you are going to be doing or seeing tomorrow and it gives a real buzz in the morning. I do know what I'm going to be doing tomorrow however, because I'm here for 2 nights so more aquatic antics I suspect. Night night all - new Goverment in the morning!
