... an unusual moment as a waft of chocolate ice cream surrounded me and i felt a bit lighter. We head back to shore and get off the boat and unload. I still feel sick and i know i have mild pie food poisoning, so I head to the beach with lots of water and chill out. On the beach I bump into Canadian James who is long term at the hostel, hes really nice and hes bought his body board. He hops a few waves then lets me have a go and its so much fun, the swell is hard so lots of ...

Introduction

... due to Jay's left knee surgery and Jackie's right knee surgery. Ugh! Well, first stop is the Tamworth Country Music Festival - two weeks of country and more country! Having been covered in textiles since our visit in November to Hinchinbrook Island, we then stop at "where it all started" in 2005 - Glenreagh Naturist Getaway - for nine textile free days during which some of our favorite naturists are joining us for the weekend ...

... toilet, just the wash basin is in the laundry. It's a small block but very pretty and beautifully landscaped. Lots of tropical plants etc. And there are some magnificent gums in neighbouring blocks. So, so pretty!!! So soon we will be open for business as far as visitors are concerned!!! Bookings taken, first come, first served, with the exception of Hockey Vets when it's all for one, one for all, sleep on the floor if need be. J

Plans changed already - we haven't even left yet!

Well thanks to slow visa people we might not be leaving to Thailand and the UK when we want to. So at the moment we are pretty much jobless (which isn't so bad!) and waiting by the letterbox for our visas to arrive. The new leave date is the 25th Feb but I think that will change again because they said allow 3-4 weeks and that was a week ago. Bummer. But now that Rusty ...

... think so. You never would have looked good in a bikini!" Yesterday we had a fair amount of rain so we did little during the day. Chris spent time on her cross stitch and I read a little and watched the poor seabirds standing on the beach outside our van. They were looking really cheesed off about the weather. I must add here that it is summer in Australia and even in weather like this it is still shorts and sandals. Ha Ha. In the evening we took the courtesy ...

... of instruments at once. It must be a wild show. I've only heard amazing things. Trying to really plot this driving around America trip for after graduation. I want to walk but I'm not sure how safe it is. I think I might do a pilot trip in January, down to FL from Boston. I can take my brother, I think it'd be good for him. We'll see. I want to see every part of America, but more importantly I want to engage with Americans and really experience my nation for the first time in my life.

... have anything to do or see!! I have visited the St John's Cathedral, which is the only one in Australia with a fully stone roof and was started to be built in 1907 and is still not complete!! They are just adding on some turrets for completion in 2009; the last piece was finished this year and was overseen by an architect from Exeter. I have also visited the streets beach - a beach in the middle of the city. This reminded me of when ...

Hello from Sunny Brisbane

... are staying at Derek and Caroles. They have a fantastic house, and have been here 3 years now. In fact they are going for their Citizenship ceremony tomorrow, so they will have dual passports as of tomorrow. We had a lovely BBQ last night, true aussie style, with lots of beer and loads of meat. This morning, we went for a bike ride with Carole around the area, and when we came back we had a breakfast ...

Vote For Whiteboy

... at work and the airwaves are overloaded with bad, bad Aussie hip hop. It's a mix of mid-nineties neo-hippie reggae rhythms and dreadful, soft rhyming. It's the whitest hip hop you've ever heard-so unapologetically pale that you're glad you've got a tan. Hip hop's supposed to have an edge, it's supposed to be hard, but this stuff's about as tough as baby's ass. Worst of all, they try to sound badass, and that Aussie accent (I find myself laughing out loud when I hear it on the radio ...
