    ... from our building and waited on the cleaning lady who was to meet us.

    As we waited... I admit, I suspended all optimism and started to judge. Harshly. Sue me.

    The block right in front of our apartment building was the worst. There was yet another drunk dude passed out on the sidewalk, this time with a paper cup propped in front of him looking for donations I guess.

    The entire area smelled like **** and it was filthy.

    ... up the rays. After a while we decided to dash back to the hostel to pick up the cards before going to the park - a rookie error to leave without them in the first place! We played cards all afternoon and chatted with a nearby Polish guy who informed us the in Poland everyone is very friendly and it's normal to talk to strangers. He certainly seemed very nice anyway but having met few other Polish people so far we'd have to take his word for it! Late in the afternoon ...
