Holiday Trek
... with be in Fort McMurray with family. I was born and raised in Fort McMurray but aside from my family, nearly everyone I was close to has left. While it is disappointing that there are so many people I haven't seen for years due to distance, geographical and emotional, one of the nice things about it is that now Fort McMurray is a little bubble of family. I go there now and it's with a rather pure purpose. I can simply relax and be with the people I've know all my life, or all theirs.

It is a perfect day to be leaving. It is almost thirty below and it won't get much warmer from here on out. Jim is taking me to the airport and I have a one day layover in Vancouver. Most of which will be spent getting the last of my paper work in order.
