Breaking Ice with a Northern Legend
... brrrrrrr, Fingers were numb after 50 seconds of videoing.
Rest of the trip went smoothly. Was a long day and took in everything around me. Lots of wildlife and about 6 Raven buffets along the way. Not sure what the road kill was, but all but one of them had fur.
Madge got me right to the hotel without issue. Grabbed a bite to eat, did a bit of research and then relaxed to the History channel for an hour....zzzzzzzzzz.

Alberta, Alberta..... Since she's been gone....
... to do bacon and eggs. My cooking is almost non-existent and totally unimaginative. We are now in Grande Prairie. The short drive here today was through lots of agricultural land, with field upon field of bright yellow canola. Very organized looking farming, with good fences, well maintained farm houses and healthy looking stock. We saw herds of elk being farmed. So now we are in Alberta.... Another time change, to Mountain Time.... ...
Grande praries, la rué vers l'or noir
... on se repose un peu après une semaine de route. On va faire un peu de ménage et prendre un peu plus de temps pour déjeuner.
Après, nous entammons la montée vers le nord à partir de Grande Prairie, Dawson Creed, mile post zéro.
La ville de Grande Prairies est une ville riche, tout semble neuf, les magasins, l'université, tout est beau avec du style, surement le résultat du pétrole. Il y aussi de grand champ de blé et de gros agriculteurs.

Day 7 - Little camping site near a river
... completely overgrown. Jake did find 4 cut off legs of a moose that may have been poached not more than 3 days ago, but he made quick business of getting rid of them and the campground became much better. We found reassurance in the fact that the legs were still here and had not been dragged away by a bear. What was concerning was that there were no other signs of the kill (like a gut pile) so we are still vigilant. It is always smart to be bear-wary in this part of the ...
