The main reason for travelling to Fort McMurray was to meet up with a cousin I hardly know.

We have met once very briefly and recently kept in touch by email and telephone and we cannot pass up the opportunity to get to know each other better.

There are some people that you meet that remain acquintances and others like Kanu, his ...

Further north at Fort Mcmurray lie the sand fields of Canada's Black Gold - their answer to Saudi Arabia's monopoly on oil.

We were warned there was not a lot to do and I had also been warned to be careful on the drive as the roads are dodge and I might get a moose run in front of my ...

... pretty fun I reckon, although it might take me some time to learn to ride it will be great! We have the 2 girls we know there so it should be a heap of fun. In our 2 weeks at Fort Mac we played lots of tennis, exercised a lot and got our health back on track. We did a 3 day juice detox in which Anna joined in too. No solids for 3 days, it went quick though and I learnt a lot about making juices and other health facts. My tummy got flatter too which didn't last ...

    Time to earn $$

A travel blog entry by briannaclark91 on Jul 29, 2014

Arrived in Fort McMurray ready to find a house and organise ourselves for work. We hooked up the free wifi anywhere we can get it which is mostly Starbucks or Maccas to search Kijijiji to find a home. The prices of accom were horrible, it ranged from $800 up to thousands of dollars for a months rent. Allana and I are here to earn money so we started to look for rooms/beds to share for our price range of max $700 a month. Larns lined up to meet with renters for the day and ...
