    Beaufiful Hotel in ancient buildings

A very beautiful hotel in one main building and one dependence across the street. Both buildings are very nicely redone and located right next to the Karl's Bridge. What's more, the staff is very friendly and very helpful.

    The Segways

Up at sunrise! Lovely view over the roof tops of Prague. A delicious breakfast and then off to Prague on Segways. It was located just near the American Embassy. There were policemen in the street checking the underneath of cars for bombs – but no pedestrian backpacks were checked.

Martin – our wonderful Segway instructor had us …

The day began early, breakfast at 6am followed by the first driver who was conservative on the roads. Our stay at the Radisson Blu Deira Creek was great. The service amazing, all the staff were so considerate – even the man delivering the newspapers who noticed us coming from our room with our baggage, so he went and pressed the lift button …

Great flight out of YVR to Munich and on to Prague. Landed exactly as promised, 4:10 pm. Amazing precision flying by the Germans... Pseudo-military, in a good way! Checked in at the hotel... Very pleased with Hotel Pod Vezi. Large room, by any standard, on quiet side of the square, but in the centre of it all. After a 1.5 hour power down, we walked …

... br> We wanted to try some authentic Czech food (even though we weren't sure what the national Czech cuisine was), so amongst other things we ordered smoked pork knee and beef goulash with bread dumplings. Whilst waiting, we were given a bread basket. We checked if it was free, because Tijo had said some places put it on the table and charge you at the end after counting how many pieces of bread you ate. When it was confirmed to be free, we thought about what food we ...

    ... a spa.

The trip as a whole was very moving and eye opening experience. The survivors of the holocaust ask us to remember the atrocities committed, and I believe it really does honor them to visit these sites.

We returned by train to Prague, and I had a relatively quiet night of reading and writing. I grabbed some dinner at the Christmas Market; ham off a spit and potato dumplings with bacon bits and sour kraut. I can’t get enough of the food ...
