Via Aurelia, 831, Rome, Lazio, Italy
Well since the last time i have been on here i have traveled alot. I spent another day in Paris walking around and seeing as much as i could. I spent a morning in the Louve seeing as much as i could, although you could spend days in there and not see anything. i made sure i hit the main highlights such as the mona lisa, the armless woman, etc..They did have some statues that i studied in my architecure class there, and that was pretty cool to see in there. I then spent hours just wandering th...

Oh well...so just so everyone knows we wont be able to put on pictures to further notice as our card reader has stopped working. So hopefully in Paris we will be able to get one, but until then, we will just update and save up the pictures for you guys! Ok so to continue with Rome... We stayed at a very fun place filled with some people camping, and others staying in bungalows and such...they had their own i...
Rome, Italy jasondcriswellWe were told by a few people before we came how amzing Rome was and how much we were going to like it, but we really didn't have any idea, I think. After a very FULL day of traveling, missing buses, trains, and supermarket closing times, we finally arrived to our Camp in Rome. (We have learned the transportation around Europe NO PROBLEM now. At first it was difficult but now we know exactly which bus or train is we're missing. ; ) ) Camping is an interesting subject in itself I've got to tell...
Rome, Lazio, Italy jasondcriswellUp early this morning and walked into town to the Acadamia Gallery to see Michaelangelo's statue of David. Beat the crowds so no queue to get in. Magnificent sculpture, definitely lives up to it's reputation. Back to campsite and checked out, then drove 'round to CarGlass Florence to have the window fixed. Turns out they had ordered the wrong glass! Highly frustrating, but not much we could do but continue on to Rome, where we were assured the proper window would be - but not until Saturday! ...
Rome, Lazio, Italy rippunzelThe bus ride to Rome is one of the longer journeys and we traveled through the mountains and along the coast of italy for about 12 hours. Unfortunately the bus regulations require stops every couple of hours so it would be faster on the train but it is nice to get out and stretch and of course eat more food than you normally would. We watched Gladiator of course as we were heading to Rome and a couple other movies. The scenery was breathtaking and so vast from one moment to the next. There we...
Rome, Lazio, Italy dfurlerAll roads lead to Rome, so the story goes. And a lot of stories Rome has! This ancient city was built on thousands of years of mythology, bloodshed, heroes, villains, crazy eccentric rulers and inventors to what today is a probably one of the most visited cities in the world. From the minute you arrive in the city you realise you are just one of a few million map and guidebook carrying tourists in this ancient city. Since accommodation in the popular city comes at a premium we opted to stay i...
Rome, Lazio, Italy vine_hooligansHello all, Iīve just spent the last few days wandering like crazy around Rome. Itīs such a huge place, even to do just the touristy things youīd need a whole week! But it is an amazing place, definitely worth it. The colosseum is a lot bigger than I thought, a little worn down, but it has been around for ages so thatīs understandable. Made some cool friends while traveling with busabout and have been out to dinner and general touring of Rome with them, it has been great fun. I went with one o...
Rome, Lazio, Italy ben27We spoke with the campsite and they assured us that if we took a train from central station that we would only have a 300 metre walk. This was true except he failed to mention that there were no sidewalks and it was a five lane highway. Luckily there was a bus that took us to a pedestrian bridge which left us at the campsite. The campsite itself was the nicest campsite we stayed at. It had its own market, a restaurant, a common area, a pool, a kitchen, and clean showers. You could rent a sigh...
Rome, Lazio, Italy tmcmullinDuring or trip from Florence to Rome we made a short stop at Orvieto. This small Tuscan town with its narrow streets, pizzerias, cafes and souvenir vendors features a large renaissance style basilica at its highest point. It is recorded that a travelling Catholic Priest had doubts about the church's doctrine on transubstantiation (the belief that the bread used in the mass to represent the body of Christ actually become flesh). It is recorded that while the priest was conducting a mass, blood...
