The most amazing thing about extended travels is having the luxury of time. Giving you the chance to visit places you normally wouldn't on a regular holiday. I guess this is the best explanation I have for why we ended up in Texas!!We arrived in San Antonio slightly apprehensive having done little (no) research into the area and checking into our first Air B&B. Air B&B is a website where private people rent out anything from a whole house to a sofa bed, with ...

... out of there in 15 minutes.

It's Wednesday, and we're still jet-lagged. I don't know why it's taking us so long this time. We struggle to stay up past 8 pm!

All and all it was a wonderful trip. We wish we'd had more time in Scotland. That was truly the highlight of our trip. Our brief sojourn into Wales was nice too -- we could definitely spend more time there. We didn't get to see Ireland this trip - it was just too much to include. We have ...

Firstly, we need to introduce our new car 'Albert' . Albert is named after the town of Albert (currently popn 4) which is nothing more than a tavern (in ...

Left Desoto heading for San Antonio on I-35. I took a small detour to stop by Black's Barbecue in Lockhart. I read about this barbecue place so figured I'd give it a try as I was in the area.

      Interesting place and great brisket.

Lockhart has an pretty cool courthouse and work is being done to renovate the historic area.

After lunch I moved on to San Antonio.

      240 miles to Lockhart.
