Wherever we've been in Scotland people have commented about how the weather this summer is unusually cold and rainy. Indeed, a walk outside or even a glance out a window brings song titles to one's head: A Rainy Night in Georgia, or Stormy Weather, for example. Walked to the Suismish ancient village, lots of rock remains of clan homes, and the croft boundaries clearly visible. What a commanding position they had, seeing all sides. Sad to learn of the clearances, when wool became so valuable that the ...

We upped anchor just after 10 and motored gently out of Loch Gairloch with a fishing line out. Soon we had caught 2 large Pollock. We motored on, southwards, passing the islands of Rona and Rassey, which lie just off the East side of Skye. Our destination is the picture postcard port of Plockton.
