    ... I hadn't planned to go ashore as I had visited before but I could certainly understand the disappointment of those who didn't get a chance.

    I ate on deck 9 at the back of the boat and then headed off to peace and a good book - thank goodness for my Kindle. It is very rough and hard to walk along the hallways but cosy in my little cabin number 6018 - perhaps I should have tidied it before taking a photo though!

    We left Chania early on Thursday morning by bus and headed for Heraklion, the capital of Crete. It is a larger city and many say it isn't too interesting but we liked the feel of it, especially after the crowded, noisy old city of Chania.     ... decided to take this time to rest with my first baklava - oh yeah!!!

    From there we meandered through the streets and shops and slowly made our way back to our hotel to collapse for a few hours. Did I mention it was freaking hot!!!
