I did eventually stay another night in Biarritz, not because of too many beers but more because of the heat! I'd forgotten to pull the blinds across and it was like a sauna when I got back - lesson learned there..

... stopped at one of the many pinchos bars and had a drink. They placed some pinchos (food on a stick) in front of us. We had been informed that at many such locations the food is 'free' so we ate it, and it wasn't. Oh well, it was only about E$1 each, so it wasn't so bad.
People were popping in and out of the many bars. It was buzzing.
What I did notice is that people don't tend to stay at one bar for long. ...

Have come here to see the Guggenheim Museum of modern and contemporary art designed by Frank Gehry, a Canadian. We left our bags at the hotel and made our way to the Museum. We fully embraced some of the art, notably a fascinating permanent exhibit by Richard Serra called "The Matter of Time" that involves a series of massive steel torqued spirals and ellipses (the math involved is beyond my comprehension) that viewers walk through, apparently to facilitate their contemplation of time and space.
