I have three day weekends every week and I'm really excited about that. However, my passport is currently being scrutinized by the police department, so I can't travel anywhere until I get it back.

Cue more boring speeches and the Grade 1s who had been given presents discovering that the conical coloured wrappers actually made rather splendid hats. It was rather amusing seeing the older students and teachers patiently listening to this droning speech and watching the little ones sit there with coloured paper on their heads. ...
... is quite small, and in a fairly quiet area of Zhuzhou, though we must be near the train line as I can hear the whistles of various trains throughout the night. I have a Chinese style loo, i.e. a squat, and no kitchen, but other than that I can't complain of where I am quartered (to be honest, am so grateful to have this job that I can put up with these things. At least it's clean and there's no cockroaches, rats, bats, mice, or worse that I hear tell of from other TEICers!) ...
Check it out guys, my awesome new apartment. I am moving on up. China doesn't pay as well as Korea, but the perks are amazing.
My room has only one bedroom, but I get an office and awesome living room on the very top floor. I'm in the PENTHOUSE!
There is also a wondrous rooftop patio just next to my place, which will be the place for lunches and parties in the future, I'm sure.
