... was a wonderful reprieve from the city, and reminded us a bit of Stanley Park. Minus the giant "Mao's Head" (see photo). It really is giant.

Being able to continue spending more time with team members we knew from our Hengyang trip was super awesome too. My new BFF, Paige, even made a last minute decision to join us in Changsha on the weekend just to spend more time with us and see a different city.

I started teaching on Sept. 5 and so far it has been very fun! The students are very curious, inquisitive, and sweet. So, our apartments had a small fridge/freezer, electromagnetic hot plate, microwave, and some strange contraption that is a dish sanitizer. Vandaag worden we opgehaald door onze school. Mijn kamergenoot, een Amerikaan genaamd Jan, is al vertrokken. Met degene die later vertrekken, zal ik eerst nog lunchen, waarna ook wij op weg gaan. Huaihua is meer dan 5 uur met de bus/auto. Max, een Russische jongen die vanaf zijn 9e in Engeland woont, is ook in mijn school geplaatst.
