... and the caves were good. Nadia was our guide for the caves and she was fun and interesting. We were not allowed to take photos in the cave (supposedly because the camera flash might ruin the cave paintings made by the Taino Indians but even non-flash photography is banned so I'm not sure...) Its my last day as a volunteer at 180 Grados in Guaymate and we had a farewell get together by going to the river. Unfortunately yudelka wasn't feeling too well, another case of Chikungunya! (Side note: only the dominicans would write a song about Chikungunya in the dembo style - very fast-paced and popular in all the clubs) It was nice and relaxing to swim in the river and we had lunch of fried ham with plantains and a type of potato whose name I can't recall. He is going to be a huge collaborator, and wants to do whatever he can to help move things along. The Consuelo Rotary club has been busy trying to get some projects started at Nuestros Peqenos Hermanos orphanage this month. We went and had a meeting with one of the women who heads up several projects there, namely the massive organic on-site garden. My club of Dartmouth East will be coming at the end of February or beginning of March for a week, and want to get involved in something to help, so I thought that it would be good to get the Consuelo club on the go ...
