    Another driving day, to Tombstone

A travel blog entry by jason934 on Oct 10, 2015

... was one picture on the wall that was a bit scary. For dinner we drove into Tombstone centre and had Mexican food. We had a quick look around town but it was getting dark and the street lighting is old school so we drove back to the ranch before it got too dark. There was a really loud cricket noise through the night, but not enough to keep us awake. We have gained 2 hours in 2 days but our bodies haven't adjusted yet so we called it a night relatively ...

It was quite windy as we left the house today - not great conditions for birdwatching but it is so gorgeous round here that just being outside is a pleasure.
First stop the grasslands at the bottom of the hill. Nothing much about as suspected in this weather just a couple of flycatchers braving the breeze. The lovely creekside nature trail was better and our favourite spot here was the black throated grey warbler. Nice.

Back in the car, we made our way to Madera Canyon via the beautifully scenic hwy 62 via Box Canyon. We arrived at the lovely Chuparosa Inn around 5pm, just in time for some fading light birdwatching. Chicken salad and Pinot Grigio for tea before falling asleep in the silence of the forest.
    What a great ...

Although we had planned a day of nothingness, when we saw the beautiful blue sky day, we took our own best advice - change all plans to take full advantage if the weather, it may not last. (Actually, this is the advice I always give to visitors to Cape Town; if the weather is good, forget everything and go up Table Mountain :-)

We decided to see if there was any way we could get to the Parque De Adventura Barancas Del Cobre to go zip-lining. Our receptionist told us we had ...

    Whiskey Fever

A travel blog entry by festis_mcgee on Oct 22, 2009

... wind blew through me, chilling everything. Through them, I too was aware of my doom and though I didn't know when, I felt my day of reckoning. It might be years from now, but it will still come too soon. It will be as ugly as anything can possibly be, and I knew that when I reach the end, I will be more alone than I am capable of understanding right now. I was throwing up as I trotted the horse through the ...
