After a great sleep we were ready to take on the City. We used the Madrid City Hop on Hop off which was convenient and provided easy access to major attractions such as Plaza de Neptuno, Plaza de Cibeles, Palacio Real and Barrio de Salamanca amongst many others. We found the city a mixture of old and new in terms of architecture. In the evening we …

Well...what a great evening. We headed home around 6pm for a siesta...and yes, we really do nap! Started getting ready to go out around 10pm for a tapas and beer crawl. Right in the heart of historic Madrid. Easy walking to attractions and close to public transport. Good size rooms by European standards. Breakfast 7.50 Euro was good value. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were polite and accomodating.
