Katakolon is a small town on the coast very near where the Olympics first began over 2000 years ago. It's about a 45 minute drive out to the site to see the ruins. Mom is getting tired of ruins. We did find some nice things, pottery and jug pieces with handles and huge great shells which Simon dived down to pick up for us to look at. I don’t know whether they were ancient relics but it was a nice diversion for us and I enjoyed getting away ...
Headed off for the drive to Pelopenesia. Followed a really pretty coastal road along to the bridge at Patra, stopping a couple of times for ice creams, cheese pies etc. Headed out to a beach at Kologria fro a swim. Water was incredible warm. Big long sandy beach with lots of beach tavernas, but nothing else.
