... hot chocolate syrup, fresh strawberries, cherries, and warm nuts. I also had the sweet, flavorful amaretto dessert wine to help induce some REM sleep. With heavy eyes, I was now very relaxed and content. Looking at my watch, the dinner was drawing to a close two hours into the flight, which corresponded to our flying over Honduras on the GPS map. That meant I had another seven hours of sleep left before landing in Buenos Aires. The cabin lights dimmed, and seats were ...
Buenos Aires, Distrito Federal, Argentina globetrekker... her and her friends. Erica had randomly brought along her pet ferret, as you do. He tried to get his little snout in people's beer glasses again.
An hour or so later we left the bar and said our goodbyes on the corner of the street outside my hostel. It was kind of weird, as me and Troy had more or less spent the last week together. He was off to Barcelona, and I was off to Australia. I went off to bed.
... a few meat sweats we got up and dodged the girl at the Hostels attempts to take us on another tour. We basically employed the ´Yeah maybe...´ tactic and ran away. Gary´s tour, however, did not get off to a promising start. He ripped his map and adapted some facts from Mendoza (further west of the Country) to suit BA. We did manage to see the balcony where Evita, according to Gary, ´Addressed her adoring fans whilst her husbadn, as you can see her (*massive statue of a bloke on ...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina jrolfe... fun!!! Beautiful surroundings of lakes and hills (and more European places) but way too hard to understand in Espanol when your concentration level is as low as a carton of orange juice! To make ourselves feel better we had to go out to the best steak house in town with our new amigos. This was courtesy of Mum n John for my delayed birthday money that travelled three countries to eventually get to me!! THE biggest steak I have seen in my life!!!! About 800g ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina philandkatrina... to drive me mad - I blame my intolerance of noise and lights on working with autism. I´ve picked up some weird habits from those kids! There were a couple different DJs, some of which played really good beats that were easily danceable but around the time where I was getting tired and impatient and needed some good music to keep myself going, that´s when they decided to play the sort of techno that sounds like an incredible amount of noise at pitches that only dogs can ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina karsenault... Florida street - shopping! and famous Cafe Tortoni where we saw a fantastic Tango show. - San Telmo - where we lived, old neighborhood, lots of tango shows and Plaza Dorrengo with huge antiques market and Uruguayan food. - La Boca - Buenous Aires ´little Italy´. slightly rough but very colourful. Home of Tango and Boca Juniors FC (Maradona). - Recoleta - Posh and colonial ...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina samandchantal... up for work its crazy. Its the city that never sleeps. We went to a Boca Jnrs match which was amazing. Vey colourfull and very noisy. Good job they won. Its in a very poor part of the city and I would not like to see what happens when they loose. Next stop Brazil and carnival time.
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina jhoekstra79... slightly worse! We quickly ate breakfast, then hopped onto our bus for the airport. Our bags were simply thrown atop the bus, without the use of any ropes to secure them ... hopefully it all makes it there! It was interesting to see that in this heavy wine-growing region, not only do they have vineyards next to refineries, but also next to the airport! Can you imagine the unique aromas that this would produce? "Hmm ... I detect a ...
Buenos Aires, Argentina pwong... really looked like a destroyed button-down, haha.
Anyway, it was a fun time. We went to a friend of a friend's house to get ready for the club. I brought my camera, but forgot to put in batteries so I had to steal pictures from friends to show you all. It was a pretty fun time. We were definitely a spectacle walking to the club in costumes in a city that doesn't really celebrate Halloween. The most common reaction ...
