... Just a normal train ride.

Once you get to the station you can definitely feel Mexico already, but most of it you can identify the border peopleīs culture. You see the working class, students, sellers of American merchandise across the border. You can listen to the spanglish and the tune of the North of Mexico accents ... it all starts becoming really colorful.

Basically to cross the border as a Mexican you can walk right through if you are empty handed. You donīt ...

... brewing area and could see the oak barrels aging tasty beers behind glass from the tasting room. We all enjoyed several samples of different types of beer - IPAs for Erik and Laura and Belgians for me. After the brewery, we picked up way too much food from Thai Pepper and devoured about half of it back on the couch at Laura’s. We were so thankful for our time with Laura and were extremely sad to pull away and say goodbye. I am now hooked on Encinitas/San ...

... us a fortune in cabs- and don't forget about tips! The zoo is so big! First order once everyone arrived was a zoo bus tour. This takes you all around to give you an idea of where everything is, and narrated by the lovely driver. ... was cool. Went for some coffee and just explored the downtown region. Again, quite a lot of signs and observations that I had definitely arrived into Mexico....

- Zebra Mules - Yep, on a few of the street corners, a few entreprenurial types had decided they would shave donkeys and paint black stripes on them to look like Zebra's. You could then get pictures in front of a decorated wooden board, whilst wearing a sombrero. I declined (even though some people ...

Old town, beach and campsite

... pool, gym, beach and boat hire. There was also an outdoor stage and a tribute band playing.

We ended the day by having a campfire with the two tour groups together, the adults drinking beer / wine and the kids setting fire to marshmallows. As we are just across the lake from SeaWorld we could also watch the fireworks from the campsite beach if we wanted.

All in all a really good start to the tour.
