The place with a special vibe

... Michel from Mexico and Netherlands but both living in Germany. Misha is super nice, but had to leave back to CA starting her career as a professor and we heard she is doing super great. Francesco has to be loved, he is Italian, what can we say. Francesco is known for saying he is leaving, but can't go. He used to live in Australia where he had 8 farewell parties until he finally decided to leave. Barra took him 3 times to say he'd go, but all of a sudden he ...

Huatulco - Last Destination on the Pacific Coast

... br>
“I didn’t like the beach at all. It was too crowded. Not very big, people too close to us, small beach just didn’t impress me. I was really, really disappointed. The beach is too close to the town. People were sitting in the hotel restaurant in the bar right behind us. It just wasn’t a good beach for me, not at all.”

As a personal comment this is very uncharacteristic of Barbara as she is usually very ...

... It reminds me of Nkhata Bay, Malawi, which makes me think of it's Tanzanian counterpart, Mbamba Bay. Of all the places I've been in the world, Mbamba Bay has most mesmerized/captured me. I can't explain why exactly, or what I'd do, but I think a lot about going back there. This probably sound crazy but last night there was no electricity at the hotel (actually not a very common occurrence here), and I wonder if I caused that to happen by ...

... between English and Spanish the whole trip, and were laughing with horribly contagious laughs at whatever jokes they were telling (probably something about the silly gringos in front of them hehe) nicely told us when to get off and as we got our bags out of the belly of the bus a taxi popped over and we hopped in and went to Mazunte. Actually we changed our minds and went to the town nearby that we were told by the oldies was nicer, San ...

Feliz año nuevo fiesta, et watershots for fun

... Angel better. As the sun slowly rose it was beautiful. Then as it got lighter, it was actually kinda dumpy. Puerto Angel is a small fishing port, so the water is absolutely packed with anchored boats, and there's a few restaurants right on the beach crammed in there. It's fairly polluted, and swimming isn't really an option unless you want to find a spot without a boat anchored and try not to think about all the **** in the water. It didn't ...

Where's My Digit?

... and I decided en route that there was no way I would go there. So I anchored in a small cove for the first night (if you call 7:30 PM to 3:30 AM the night), then resumed when I felt the wind shift to the land breeze. Since I didn't fuel up, I needed to sail as much as possible, reserving motoring when the boat was going slower than 2 knots. Basically, if you've ever felt 2 knots, it feels like you're not moving. So Friday at 5 PM, I sailed by Acapulco, giving the ...

More About My Life in México

... 845. I walk through the park "El Llano", which people are working in everyday. It´s new and really beautiful! A nice contrast to the graffiti around the city. I have grammar and conversation classes with an hour break between from 9AM-1PM then I walk back home for comida, which is like lunch, but it´s the primary meal of the day. I´m usually served some sort of meat (chicken, beef, etc.), veggies, rice or mashed potatoes. ALWAYS tortillas. They´ve realized ...

... bad i was and how much i hurt myself. A few practice runs on the beach and it was straight in the water. The lesson was only an hour but he promised i would be up and running in no time. The first couple of times saw me coming face to face we the sea floor, and getting up close and personal with a few rocks, ouch but after a while I got the hang of it, not sure if i´m ready for any competitions yet thou. Tomorrows lesson how to surf without screaming like a girl, should be tough.

Beaches on the Pacific Coast

... golden sand in a wide arc and not a person in sight! There was one hut serving drinks at the far end but nothing else here.. We had an hour or so with this delightful beach (and it's huge crashing waves!) to ourselves but then the late afternoon thunderclouds appeared and we left to find somewhere which actually had a place to sleep! Over the next couple of days we also visited Bahia Santa Cruz which had shops, a modern marina & calm waters ideal for ...
