... are very very glad we did it....thanks Sarah and Josh for the recommendation!!

Once we came back down, we were in Aspen and it was 1pm so we decided to have a late lunch. Whilst driving around to find parking, Darren glimpsed down a street and saw a bear!! I guess it's not too uncommon to have bears around but by the time we could turn around safely, it was long gone.

Aspen reminded me a bit of Banff, cute little ski/snowboard town with lots of hikes in the summer.

Unfortunately, I did not realize how high up Aspen is (2400m above sea level) and once we started our hike at Maroon Bells, I felt quite dizzy and tired. Turns out I must have had some sort of altitude sickness at 3000m above sea level... That happened on our hike in Santa Fe as well.. well, now I know :)

I recovered quickly and finished the hike at least...

... miles. We learned something today about the parks…National Parks are created by Congress, National Monuments are created by the act of a President. They are similar to parks and administered by the Park Service, and our park pass gained us entrance to this "park" for a 22 mile drive through some of the most beautiful lands we have seen in our travels…orange walls topped with green and a deep ...

... 8217;s Bodega for lunch.  Such a fun morning!  After lunch, Keller had to split to join Gary and Co. for some work meetings, so Pamela and I decided to hit up the Viceroy pool and enjoy the perfect mountain weather.  Ummm…hi!  Pool time=drink time.  Pool time fresh strawberry margaritas= quality afternoon.  I ended up leaving shortly after to meet Keller at Olga’s for another happy hour drink and early ...
