... to Aspen. We flew from Vegas to Denver and then caught the Colorado Mountain express to Aspen. We left at 5am in the morning and arrived in Aspen at 6:30pm after we had to change buses because ours was having engine trouble. We are definitely not having much luck on the bus side of things this trip.

Scrambled once again up the snow covered hill to the grandstand. The World Cup Ladies Slalom Course was all laid out and we were able to see it from top to bottom.

Once again we cheered on all nations and a huge cheer for our Aussie, Greta Small. This was her first World Cup Slalom start. Unfortunately Greta straddled the ...

      ... Christmas Tree Lighting
That evening we went the the St Regis for their annual Christmas Tree Lighting. It is quite a spectacle. Carol singing, Champagne bottle opening with a Sabre (very dramatic) and of course a huge, superbly decorated and well lit tree. The star of the evening was Santa's arrival and the many children there waited patiently in line to speak to the jolly man. Obligatory family photos were ...

      Room with a View!
When I opened my eyes this morning it was an OMG moment. I was looking at Shadow Mountain and the Slopes of Aspen. Unreal! It was a bluebird day and we were looking at the World Cup course. Couldn't ask for anything better than that.

      Exploring Aspen
After breakfast we walked up to check out the World Cup course. As it was, the skiers were having their familiarisation of the course so we ...
