Long flight little sleep on plane so really tried when I arrived. Hotel is great crashed about 5pm woke a few times eventually getting up at 6.30am to get readyfor a 1/2 day tour of Dubai which was really good saw lots it is a truly an OTT place. ... was Robs birthday but that was complicated as our hotel concierge didn't have the power and we couldn't do it over the internet or by phone, they told us to go to Crowne which luckily wasn't too far away. The terminal was like a vast cathedral with apparently stained glass windows ( I may have this wrong ) and after an easy disembarkation ( late boarding => early exit ) and a worry about where the next flight gate was I had time to wander round the noisy active shopping area.
