... have spoken with some native Athenians during and since my trip and they had the same conclusion. Come to Greece for a week...come to Athens for a few days. Make sure to use Athens for the temples, scenery and a few museums, but make sure to also take time to visit the country-side and/or islands. This will help you really appreciate Greece for all that it is worth. Athens and its history are only a small part of Greece as a whole.

We spent the first day lost trying to find the acropolis which is now a bunch of ancient ruins, but in ancient Greece it held temples and shrines and safety in case of an attack.
