May 23-26: Just to see another of the islands, I had decided to spend my last three nights on Gran Canaria. Rather than flying, I took the ferry from Puerto del Rosario on Fuerteventura to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The journey took close to seven hours – but they show movies onboard! The first one had English subtitles, but the next two didn't. I think I was the only non-Spanish-speaking person onboard. ...
... So you only want 2 pizzas?' 'What do you mean?' We figured out that they misspelled Margherita pizza as the frozen tequila drink. Apparently I decided drinking beer and eating a whole pizza were in my best interests. I managed to finish 3/4 of one even though it was bigger than a dinner plate. I also decided to eat some apple pie and upon ordering that came a very awkward conversation with a couple who were flabbergasted to meet ...
... basic necessities like water. We arrived safely and eagerly stepped out of the cabin. Instantly I felt that dewy warmth on my dehydrated airplane skin. If I could bottle that feeling I would!

... each place was more of the same hotels and condos nestled in the hills. Not that I am complaining! It's just a weird feeling to take a tropical beach holiday in the middle of travelling ;). Tomorrow we head back to Maspalomas for a night and then fly into London to see Shane (Seamus) and Jenny for a few days. Should be a blast but I think it will be a shock to the system to get back to a winter climate again! Ok I think that's it for now! Adios, ...
Aaaaah!!! Sun us shinning sky is blue, sea is much calmer (looking good). The day has started well, began with some exercise (in the gym!!!!), ( I knew that would impress you) enjoyed breakfast with some interesting people, off to camera club followed by cyber cafe tuition. ( it's all go here). Met Shirley and Helen (the mother and daughter on our dinner table) had a lovely chat plenty of laughs followed by lunch. Craft club this pm and Shirley ...
