Entry 5 of a trip titled: Volunteering and Adventuring in the Dominican Republic

Hi all! This blog is about my 1st-ever trip abroad. I'm spending 5 weeks in the Dominican Republic with a group called International Student Volunteers. The first 5 days of the trip will be spent in Santiago taking Spanish and dance lessons and living with a host family. The next two weeks will be spent volunteering for an organization called Crossroads, where I will help build homes and teach children. During the last two weeks I'll have a chance to explore the country, doing all sorts of fun things like rafting, canyoning, and surfing! I hope you enjoy reading about my experiences as much as I'm sure I'll enjoy experiencing them!
