Day 65, Finally Dissected A Fish

... all the organs. Then cut the esophagus so the organs can be totally removed from the fish. We then had to separate the liver only, which was used for a histology exam. Then cut off a whole gill for further analysis, and then a piece of skin. Then we had to weigh the fish witout guts with the gill, then just the gill, then just the liver. Liver, gill and skin were placed in a small container for formaldahyde and send to a histolgy lab.

Day 64, Our Early and Gone on Errands

Usual day at work, I was able to get out early so I can go to the Extranjeria department and try and get my permit of citizenship for cheaper travel. Once I got there they did not let me in because they had a technical difficulty and it was packed with people. I then went to a camping store to fix my backpack that broke. Had to buy weist traps with buckles and go to a leather store where they could ahve fixed it. Also had to have fixed 2 zippers that had broken in the past.

Day 63, Many Fish Have Died

I came into work and was told that hundreds of my fish have died. The pump that brings salt water from the ocean into the tanks stopped working. So no fresh salt-water was coming in. I have to admit, it was sad feeding a tank that once had hundreds of starving fish in the morning, to a tank with 12 fish. I obviously had to tell nearly everyone at work what happened to my forehead and cheek, but thats the price you pay for having fresh scars on your face.

... that will always be in the shade, place a plastic bag filled with wet sand into the hole, place the bottles in the sand in the bag. Pour cold sea water onto the bottles, that will pour into the bag and keep the sand wet. Also wet the sand around the bag. It worked perfectly.

On my way back to beach I heard a loud noise, similar to a stick breaking or the cracking of a knuckle: that was a jellyfish shooting its stingers against my shoulder. I did not have to pee at the time, so I used the vegetable oil that was in the tuna-can, it worked just as good. ...
