Excited to attend December Nights in Balboa Park

My kids just love the Balboa Park. December Nights in Balboa Park is one annual family event we try to enjoy every year. So this time we are going to San Diego to check out the festivities in Balboa Park on December 4th and 5th. Balboa Park is delightfully lit up with sparkling lights. The best part is a chance to savor lip smacking delicacies from different countries ranging from ...

Maritime Museum and Gaslamp Quarter

... remember the Seaport Village and the Marriott Hotel we stayed in.

From there we drove to the Gaslamp Quarter. We had pizza and watched football in a tiny corner shop for Thanksgiving dinner, then went to the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop. Logan had a regular ice cream sundae and I had a peanut butter and dark chocolate sundae. A good food day and a lot to be thankful for.

Sadness is sweepign over me.

I am so sad today. It is our last full day in Mexico. We leave early tomorrow morning and will be staying the night in San Diego. Today at 6:00 am I swam in the Sea of Cortez. So warm, and I even got to watch the sunrise too. As a quick catch up, today we finished all of our little projects at the orphanage and at the rehab center. Last night was the final night for VBS. The total number of kids that got tags was ...

Kiki's RV Park

After a couple weeks of dry camping in El Dorado Ranch, we moved to Kiki's RV Park in town on January 12th to enjoy full hookups for a few days. It's a great little park where most of the campers have resided there each winter for years. We were welcomed into the group and enjoyed playing bocce ball, lying on the beach ...

San Diego - Beauty close to Mexico

... They did not honor their reservation and it would have been cheaper to take a cab, which we did on our return to the airport: $8.- including tip! Don't book with "A-Blue-Shuttle" if you stay close to the airport. We checked in the "La Pensione" boutique hotel and had a cute little room that turned out much bigger than expected. Here's the scoop on the hotel: I ...

San Diego

So today we drove down to San Diego, which took for freaking ever, I have never seen so much traffic in my life (outside of LA)....but it was totally worth it when we drove over to see the boat. It is so much bigger then I imagined!! I think the full extent of what I was about to so finally hit me there while we were taking pictures and if it's possible I got ever more excited then I was before!! After pictures I met up with some of the other SASers and we all went to Buca di Bepo ...

Days One Sixty-Five and One Sixty-Six

... to figure out how to ask if a frog's ass was watertight in Spanish, I simply replied in the affirmative and he offered me a freshly cooked carne asada torta. It was one of the best things I've ever eaten. Even though the exchange rate is a around eleven pesos per dollar, most of the merchants seem to employ a de facto exchange of ten to one to facilitate transactions. For instance, if the campo manager quotes a price of ten dollars, he will gladly accept one hundred pesos which ...

Day One Sixty-Three

... and the California Division of State Parks have pretty much run these obnoxious, polluting rednecks out of Southern California so they have all loaded their infernal combustion nightmares onto trailers and headed to Mexico where there are apparently no restrictions except the availability of gasoline. The otherwise serene beauty of the Sea of Cortez is punctuated every fifteen minutes by of convoy of these motorons (moto morons). Tomorrow we'll try to search out a more peaceful spot.

Cez puste a hory juho-zapadnych USA - diel 3

Autobus prevrateny cez stred dialnice no a podobne. Po 11 hodinach cesty sme vsak uz boli opat naspat na domovskom Coronade. Na smrt unaveni a stastni, ze nemusime rozmyslat nad tym ako sa zakladaju snezne retaze na auto. :-)
