... on his crutches as he felt one of the screws inside his knee had worked it's way loose. He stayed in the car for the ferry trip. We arrived at Sami in Kefallonia and headed straight to the hospital. We were all a bit worried that the doc would have to open his leg back up! We were really thrilled to find Andy smiling and much happier after the doctor had seen him. The screw had worked it's way out so they took it out!! Apparently with minimal fuss through a small incision. ...

This port is all about the shopping and beach. We rented a scooter and rode up the coast about 10 miles to a perfect sandy beach. Laid out for about 2 hours then back on the road to check out a few non touristy towns. This is what I love to do but makes Jamie a little nervous. As we started to drive there my initial thoughts on Greece ...

... order. This was all followed by a nap. It was a wonderful day.

Today we are in Katakalon which is the port for Olympia. We took a morning tour to Olympia which was about a 45 minute drive. The first thing that impresses you when you get there is the sheer size of the area. The first Olympic contests were held there in 776 B.C. The whole complex was severely damaged in ...

... us hired a taxi for 80 euro total including his waiting time for us at Mt Olympiad. Our driver was Antonis and he said his tidy looking Skoda taxi had travelled over 1 million kilometres and was on its second engine. He was a million man as he said that Katakolon has about 1 million tourists per year, mainly via cruise ship - there was a second ship in port at the same time we were. We noted that it had a hydroslide that included a clear section ...
