    ... is Business. And yes - their second class was good. It was quite crowded - not tourists though, business people. We reached 200km per hour!

    Then changed to a Regional train - a real regional train this time. We wended our way past various sees (lakes) until we got to Hallstatt See. There is nothing at the stop, except for a sign to the ferry - and it was raining.

    Just to put an end to the myth - the ferry from the Hallstatt train stop ...

    ... on the wall to flush rather than the handle that we're all so used to in America.

  • They call them "toilets" not "restrooms".
  • Sparkling water and paprika chips are pretty big here. Whenever I order water, I have to specify that I want it still and I made the mistake of buying sparkling water at a grocery store that we went to. I'm not sure if paprika chips are big in all the countries, but I've seen ...

    ... the magnificent Grossglockner drive we head to Hallstatt a small authentic Austrian village perched on the edge of the lake. Pop 720 and the men dress in leather pants and Austrian ladies look like dolls in their traditional dresses……. except for the 3000 Japanese and American tourists it’s Austrian Fairy land.     ... for Sunday, we started walking, luckily one of the couples that walked up to the caves and bumped into while walking to five fingers took pity on us and picked us up and drove us to the bottom. Relief! We had a short walk to the restaurant we have been having dinner, the only one if you don't have a car, thank goodness the food was great.
