So tomorrow morning we start on our second journey to Belize. There's been a lot of preparatory work, very little of which revolves around the trip, but rather just being able to go away for three weeks.

... They are custom built and hold about 36 people are not designed for speed. There is no snow at this time of year so they were bumpy and even slower. After about 30m we saw our first bear. About 300m away lying down not in a slight bit interested although it did raise its head from time. We only have a 16x zoom on the camera which wasn't quite good enough however I will play around on the computer when we get home.

So, I am sitting at the airport in Winnipeg, leaving for California in a little over an hour, where they've had at least 4 earthquakes since last night. Strongest was about 5.1 and caused some damage to homes, water main breaks and general unease. Feeling a little apprehensive.
11 months ago today I was returning from California. It was a quick weekend trip. This time I will have more time to see the sights and stuff.

Such a lovely thing to do, I was touched, and they had not breathed a hint of it, nor of the wonderful goodbye letters they had been secretly writing for the past couple weeks, which were presented to me at our class party that Thursday.
