      ... everyone entering was listed as a hotel guest.

      Maybe it was because it was a Friday night, and people were cutting loose. Maybe the guests at a wedding at the hotels were exuberantly celebrating. Maybe it was because the Winnipeg Jets lost 2-4 to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

      It wasn't an especially nice evening. Winnipeg is rough.

      ... Winnipeg winter.

      We stopped by burnt out catholic cathedral which must have been very imposing in its day, the parishioners have built a modern replacement within the stone walls of the old.

      Next stop was the Legislative Assembly building for Manitoba, a large imposing building with gardens going down the river. Winnipeg is built on the confluence of two rivers (Red and Assiniboine) which have flooded from time to time the last one in the 90's.
