... just a market but also decorations. There us an alleyway that has all the story book characters up on the second story balconies and windows. Little Red Ridinghood, Pinocchio, mother Goose, etc. Parents bring their kids and it is fun to watch the kids identify the characters.
Innsbruck is a very old and beautiful city. It is small, 130,000 and sits between two mountain ranges in a narrow valley. We did see skiers but the lifts don't operate ...
... than the tunnels the trip was uneventful til we got to Innsbruck. The Altstadt (old town) christmasmarket had started on the weekend. Our hotel was on the christmasmarket street. After a couple of misses and drive bys we finally pulled into the market, found the hotel and the receptionist told John where the parking was and that he needed to do a U turn and get off the street right away! The car is parked until we leave on Thursday.
... Amsterdam is not
actually 600km but a mighty 900km and so its going to be a good long journey
tomorrow and the following day.
The route the satnav has setup for tomorrow seems to be quite good but
somehow I'm not convinced its the normal route back to the ferry from here.
Either its getting confused or I'm getting confused. Whatever the outcome I will
get there somehow.

... full experience of the drag lifts, and getting a free ride down the chair lift! Tracy didn't know how to ski so I have her the quick run down before we headed down the hills! She got the hang of it pretty well and pretty soon she was flying down the hills! (literally, she couldn't always slow down) We had a really fun day though and only had issues with our skis once! There was snow or something packed into my boot or ski and I'm not kidding ...
