We said our goodbyes to Sean in the morning and hope to meet again one day, somewhere in the world. We drove right through LA and at Santa Monica we headed north up the coast. We arrived at a place called Pismo Beach and despite being told we would probably get stuck on the beach in our car we decided to drive 1 mile along the beach and set up camp in between loads of RV vehicles. The owners all seemed to own quad bikes and dirt bikes and dune buggies....it only cost us $10 tho ...
... view mirror, was amazing. Gary just kept saying, "I can't believe we're in CA." It was mile after mile of mountains and vales and rolling hills all cloaked in ten different shades of green and forests of trees with swaying spanish moss and cows lightly scattered and grazing these hills. I kept saying, "I want the milk that comes from those happy cows."
We hugged the coast as much as possible, but didn't really hit a beach town until Pismo.
So we started our road trip today, from LA to San Fran - the coastal road on highway 1 is just stunning - Lots of golden beaches!
We drove until 3ish stopping at loads of places on the way - we stopped at Pismo beach where Rob was able to do his first lot of kite surfing - the beach is so big so we were allowed to drive right on there - we then sat and watched the sunset while listening to tiesto - lush!
