Sayaniemi Camping, near Puhelin

A very quiet and peaceful evening, blessed with no midges as it was cold but this made the skies clearer and the light and colours spectacular. We walked a little, enjoyed our evening meal with some wine and a good, long sleep. En route to Tampere now for a look see and perhaps a shop before we find somewhere for the night, we shall see! Having been here before helped ...

A sprint to the Finnish

... car park - the reason we were in Tampere in the first place. And it really is spectacular. A man made cavern some 20m wide and 10m high and perhaps a kilometre long all 30m under the streets of Tampere. We pulled up in Porvoo an hour or two later and immediately Tim opened the door and dived straight out on to the pavement, face first, good job we'd already stopped by then eh? We transferred to the back of Dom's 4x4 and mashed it up a hill to his house, in the dark, on a dirt track, rally style. Bedtime now as we'd all been up for 24 hours straight.
