Long and tiring day. The flight was fine but the first leg was the shortest I've known. Stanstead to Birmingham, 25 minutes, hardly time to get in the air. ... Once you leave the plateau just south of Konya you head into the mountains and it is quite stunning scenery for miles - in fact almost until you get to the coast. Rugged, rocky mountains with pine trees where-ever they could hold on. Someimes quite dense but at other times giving each other a piece of air. Little mountain villages that look very much like they might double for ski villages in the winter. Bit like a scene from Switzerland or Austria ...
