Rias Baixas (Bajas in Castilian) is not smoother country than the northern rias. The beaches are calmer, warmer and easier accessible and so beach tourism flourishes here, making it less nature and more resort. Never a moment alone, not even in the shoulder season.

So its mothers day today and because we are in a foursome of 3 mothers we had a "lay" day and took the BUS. From Tui to Redondela and then walked the hour to our hotel Anton at Soutoxusto.
Very different to our beautiful Portugal. Bigger, newer, dirtier and less gardens, although we have not hit the camino yet.

It was an easy walk today, only 19 km. maybe we are just getting walking fit, our calves certainly have doubled in size. The camino route wasn't so spectacular today, some beautiful bits as shown in the photos. But we have made it to Spain!!!!!!!!!! Tui is a beautiful old city, nobody speaks English, had a very expensive tapas dinner, not great ...
