    Odd seas but perfect anchorages

On Friday we set off south for the next ria down, the Ria de Vigo. This is one of the most built up rias, as it houses Vigo, probably the largest city in the area.

It was beautifully sunny, but the wind was bizarre; always in the wrong place and dropping from a good, sailable speed to nothing seemingly at random. The result was the what should have been a relaxed, short sail down to the next ria became unnecessarily ...

From the camping there is a bus that goes to Pontevedra, so we'll take that tomorrow morning. We got organized and after a good big shower walked 10 min to the little village, beach and boulevard with lots if café's and terraces. Than we walked back and read until it was time for dinner which we had in the ...

Well, one anchorage was too small to comfortable house more than one boat, and there was already a boat there when we arrived, and the other was full of steel mooring buoys, leaving no real room to anchor unless you didn't mind the side of your boat clanging into a lump of metal in the night.

Funnily enough, as we approached a ...

We've rather slowed down since I last updated this; the sun's come out and the days have become lazier.

We spent a few days in Muros and the ria around it, stopping in at Portosin for a couple of days before heading back to our previous anchorage, where An Incredible Thing happened.

I was out in the kayak exploring the nearby shallows, where the sun was dancing enticingly on the sand just below the water. I was on my way back to the boat when I saw ...

... style dresser of gleaming dark wood and a huge bed fitted with crisp white cotton sheets. The friendly lady who made up the room wore a starched uniform and the waiters in the exceptionally good restaurant attached to the hotel wore waistcoats and bow ties as they glided around the tables. It felt very refined and old fashioned and the staff couldn't do enough to help with anything at all. Almost didn't want to leave the hotel haha. However, ...
