... On ship for 5 hours stopping at all little amazing towns dropping of all the tourists at little ports on the way. Eventuality arrived at Peschiera at 7.45pm. Went straight to restaurant near our hotel feeling rather smelly and dirty but needed food and a drink first. Beautiful view looking over the lake with the moon shining over it. Had a great meal then off to hotel in the dark, had to turn on our bike lights as was really dark by now.

... evening we wandered through town and went to TripAdvisors #1 restaurant in Tirano, Contadi Gasparotti. It was amazing! A set menu of 6 dishes for only €15. The lady makes all the food herself. She also grows all the grapes for the wine she serves! Incredible. The menu included meats and cheeses, crepes, amazing potato/bean mix, and delish apple cake to finish. We were so full!!! A lovely balmy night (one of the only nights we haven't been in pants and ...

... lost some time we decided to take the short route which would save us about 5km. Down the road we found a little coffee stop right next to the cycle trail. Later we stopped again for lunch under some trees in a picnic area. The day was starting to warm up considerably. We have been following the river Adige all morning and will continue to do so untill we reach our destination ...

... cars, motorcycles, bicycles and people everywhere. The coffee shops were doing a roaring trade. Whilst at the summit, which is at 2980m we decided to take a ride up the two cable cars on to the glacier for a look where people were doing some summer skiing. The drive back down was almost as hairy as the way up, though the traffic was much lighter now. We got the Bambina back in one piece after a most enjoyable drive. Another tick off the bucket list for JK.

... to mention the Dolomites reputation for August rain. Only a few short minutes into finding a campsite it started to drizzle and although there were a few short breaks it didn't really stop for 48 hours. However, we made the best of it! Armed with some white ponchos (thanks Sue!) we ventured out into Dimarco the local alpine town. A few things stand out from this quaint village firstly the aggressive and frankly dangerous Coop (local supermercato) car park! ...
