After brekkie it was onto Menton which is a lovely little town just before the Italian border. Menton is a much more down to earth place than its neighbours and more our scene. We found a park right on the beach and went for a wander and took in sum much needed sun. Next stop Italia!!<br>

... we found that we'd missed the last train by 3 minutes. On a whim, we decided to head to Venice. Venice: The only train we could catch into Italy turned out to be an overnight sleeper train. We located our room, which contained 6 sleeping palettes and a wholesome Canadian couple on their honeymoon. It was okay in a claustrophobic-but-cheap kind of way. ... busy to find a spare computer so we decied to forget about it and get some food at the supermarket. There was a supermarket (called a Schlecker) only up the road and not far from the hotel that we thought we could stock up at. It was very strange.
