After brekkie it was onto Menton which is a lovely little town just before the Italian border. Menton is a much more down to earth place than its neighbours and more our scene. We found a park right on the beach and went for a wander and took in sum much needed sun. Next stop Italia!!
... and not campervan parking friendly. We found a picture perfect stop just after Monte Carlo at the top of a hill overlooking the Med. We had the place to ourselves so we russelled up some brekkie in the sun which was lovely, so much so we were in t-shirts!!!

Gorges Verdon... Route Napoleon

... wine bottle and then we thought they were off on the trail, but no they got in the car and drove on!
At the end of the gorge we joined the road towards Cannes, which was route Napoleon, orginially created by him as a pass through the mountains...very windy. Our destination for the evening was Grasse where we found a good park overlooking the city lights and our first view of the Med.

Antibes and St-Tropez

... Sailboats were docked at the marina (knez, it made me think of you). Diane ordered mussles and Jon and I had our first mussels ever. They were delicious. Thank you Diane for helping me discover my love for sea food. St-Tropez was further than we thought, but thank god we ...

Bisous!

We were so excited to have another person travelling with us, that our time spent with Diane was mostly fighting over her for her attention and trying to get her to side with one of us. She was definitely a good friend to both of us ( and didnt favor me, which I thought she should have ...

From here, you could see all the districts of Monaco including Fontevielle, La Condamine and Monte-Carlo. ... met first and then decided to go and have a bite to eat. The first meeting, itself an exceedingly unstable affair due to the established custom (explained above), would give rise to an even greater degree of instability when paired with the disaster that is restaurant service. The result would be sheer catastrophe. Pablo quickly wrote down and published his findings, and soon all Spain was in a mild shrugging mood. Soon afterwards a ...

Nice

... we found that we'd missed the last train by 3 minutes. On a whim, we decided to head to Venice. Venice: The only train we could catch into Italy turned out to be an overnight sleeper train. We located our room, which contained 6 sleeping palettes and a wholesome Canadian couple on their honeymoon. It was okay in a claustrophobic-but-cheap kind of way. The Canadians turned out to be nice folks, and related many amusing tales from their stay in Egypt. After a surprisingly heavy sleep ...

Nice......Day 7......The day after Australia day

... busy to find a spare computer so we decied to forget about it and get some food at the supermarket. There was a supermarket (called a Schlecker) only up the road and not far from the hotel that we thought we could stock up at. It was very strange. I'm not sure what kind of system they run in France but there appeared to be no cusotmer service. There was only one checkout lady for about 15 customers and she didn't even ...
