Sleepy tropical island in the sea of blue...

... economic success, bussiness is growing according to Leroy. More and more cruise ship passengers are enjoying the towns charm and beauty with attractive shops offering duty free products everywhere. Leroy showed us as well St. Kitts' hospital, municipal hall, schools, all the relevant highlights and information. He drove us to Old Road Town, 5 miles west of Basseterre, where the first British settlers landed. On the way, we pass the little ravine of Bloody Point ...

St Kitts - Sounds French it's actually English...

... tour of the island for the afternoon. This was a good way to see the sights and chat with a local who could explain the history and current happenings on the island. We drove through lots of small villages and up to an historic fort where Lord Horatio Nelson held of a French invasion. (It seems that just about all these islands have been fought over by the French and British, they now seem to alternate as you cruise ...

Cricket Man!!!

... dead rubbers, but St. Kitts is a cricket starved island, and it was always going to be a big party either way!! I arrived on the Wednesday afternoon after stopping over in Miami. Bo Diddly gave me a cab ride to the hotel. Seriously, this guys eyes were just about to pop out of his head. He was nice though, and it became obvious that as soon as a West Indian realises you're Australian, they want ...

9th Anniversary was a Great Day!

We had a great day on our 9th anniversary! We went on all day Catamaran trip with the entire TI crew. We 1st stopped off at coral reef where we wnet snorkling and saw many tropical fish, turtles and lots of colorful coral. We then stopped off at the Coco Beach Club on the island of Nevis and had lunch, rum punch and enjoyed time on wave runners. On the way back to St Kitts Island, it's customary to dance around the boat for good luck so we danced to raggae music around the ...

St. Kitts

St Kitts: This is one of the better islands to go shopping. They are new to tourism and therefore their prices were very competitive. St Thomas may have more to choose from, but if you find what you like on this island, this is where you'll get the best deal.

... of the road unless there was traffic coming the other way. The town was very small, and most of the shops were of a tourist nature not the glitz of the diamonds we say in St Maarten. We wandered round all the shopping area's and round a craft market next to the ocean before returning to the ship.

Only 10 days left

... the city. All the busses have the driver's nicknames painted on the front. Like Ali G, Mr. Smooth, Chucky, Bashment, and Mr. Strong. The busses are 14 passenger Euro vans, and each one is decked out by the driver. Some play some really good music, some have runner lights inside. But they all drive REALLY fast. 60 mph down these really narrow roads with no sidewalks or driveways. The drivers have to dodge parked cars, chickens, small children, goats, stray dogs, and ...
