... to Malaysia. That being said, I am off tommorow to Malaysia. I'm not exactly sure where I am going yet, but I am on a bus heading to the island of Penang. I may jump off early and try and catch a different bus to another coast, but time will tell.<br> And that is a wrap of Thailand the second time around. The islands were perfect, the nightlife was a lot of fun, and the people as always were very friendly.
Hat Yai, Songkhla, Thailand erictelanderFinally say Goodbye to Pha-Ngan It didn't take me long to decide to leave Pha-Ngan. Although I absolutely love the stillness of its nature, especially Thong Nai Parn Noi, and I began to make some new friends, but travelling is about moving, one can't stay in a place forever. I needed to go back to my mother as soon as possible also. I left the day after Full Moon party. People kept asking me whether I did join it or not. In the end, I ...

Hat Yai, Thailand whynot86... there it went downhill fast. Starting with the huge straight razor that was about as sharp as my second grade pink eraser. Undeterred, she really put her back into it, dragging it down my cheeks in fits and starts like she was removing a dog's winter coat. After that there were multiple attempts to get at the tight spots, alternately pinching, pulling, and twisting my lips, nose and ears in hope of somehow magically turning my face into a two-dimensional surface. On two ...
Hat Yai, Thailand dinojay2... no, we did not fall, instead... we ran out of petrol ! How convenient when you are in the middle of the jungle on a dirt road in the dark with a pregnant woman and a heavy backpack. Especially when you think about the reasons why you took that bike : no walking anymore ! I pushed the bike for a bit in order to get up the hill, and then we cruised downhill for a good 600 metres until it came to a complete stop. Needless to say all of this is in the ...

Hat Yai, Thailand braverhund... so of course they would understand how ethnic identity and national identity could coexist. Singapore is primarily Chinese, but seems to successfully integrate all the cultures that it is made of. The immigrant culture of the city may also be strengthened by the number of expats in the city, which make up 20 percent of their population. I also happened to be there during Deepavali, the big Indian holiday. Singaporeans get a day ...
Hat Yai, Thailand minhee... Now we are free to take "fun dives" anywhere. That just means we can dive wherever and don't have to take a 1/2 day of training before diving. As for scuba diving: its definately one of the absolute coolest things I've ever done. Its amazing. Completelt different from anything above water. The colors, the creatures, the plants! And just the feeling of having no gravity ...
Trang, Thailand drewandjessicaYesterday, we finally crossed into Thailand. My first impression of this place is things are very cheap. In general, the dollar is far more valuable here than anywhere else I had visited, including China, Argentina, Africa, and Malaysia. A dinner platter would generally cost about $1-$2, and our room with 4 beds cost a total of $7.50. There didn't seem to be much to do in Hat Yai ...
