    ... only because they -just like all the Asians, no offence- loved the white blonde hair of Asher). Rachel, and Ryan got out in Brinchang, and I was dropped of back in Tanah Rata.

    In the guest house I met Faith (Canada), who was just about leave to go for dinner with some friends (Rachel UK and Kate US) who where staying at another hostel. I joined them for dinner after which we went back to their hostel, grabbed a beer and played some card games.

    ... whilst I walked to the end of the street to see if I could see anything, eventually I found a tiny corner cafe so headed back to collect the bags. It turned out the cafe was part of a pretty posh hotel but it had food, drinks and wifi so we could let home know we were staying.     We flew into Hat Yai from Bangkok, a change from our previous visit here, where we were coming overland from Songkla and heading onto Penang (in Malaysia).

    The flight wasn't as straightforward as we had anticipated, although it didn't help that I'd forgotten to pack my penknife in my hold luggage, and had had this confiscated for collection when I landed.

    ... s bright blue one is from the Lanta animal welfare centre where we walked homeless and poorly dogs. Max's is from the place we stayed called the hut.
