... of a large hill. If you can handle the long walk to the top, there are many statues and buildings to see, most of which have a Chinese theme. Also the views of Hat-Yai city from the top aren't to be missed. Close by is an observatory, but this was closed on the day i visited. You don't have to take the cable car to get from ...

Kuala Lumpur seems the kind of place which is ok through the day but could be unsafe on a night, we both decided after our huge nandos we weren't particularity hungry so decided to get some snacks from over the road and have a night in. Oh we bought a selfie stick on our short ventures out of the room, prepare for selfies to ...

We made great time to Chiang Mai so we chilled out at the airport plaza mall for a few hours ...

... manage to see two guys standing at the entrance to a minimart waiting for something. I asked them if they knew any guesthouses nearby or could they point me in the direction I should be walking, but turns out they are just waiting for their next bus and only passing through to Penang in Malaysia. I checked out one guesthouse for 250 baht, took one look at the room without even entering and walked out, I found another foreigner and asked him if he ...

A travel blog entry by hollybeth on Feb 19, 2013

We started our bus journey bright and early at 7am.. but our bus driver arrived an hour late! On arrival, there was another two travellers waiting to be collected from our hotel.. our mini bus arrived and out jumped a very stressed out Thai man. Looking at us and all our bags he said "4 people".. then opened the van doors to a almost full van?! With only two seats free, he had to move all the bags he had piled on to the front 3 seats (not really ...
