To break up the journey to Malaysia, we stopped off at the southern most Thailand city, Hat Yai. Got off the bus and walked around grumpily trying to find a cheap hotel. We found one, hiked all our backpacks up flights of stairs, only to come across the most hideous room I've ever seen. Like something out of a prison or an asylum. We've stayed in some pretty bad places on this trip to keep our budget down, but neither of us could handle this room. So ...

... store to make sure we had souvenirs for everyone on our list (we are not sure what the shopping will be like on the island). I picked up one more scarf and a cool teak bracelet. Then it was to the airport...where we waited some more. The flight to Had yai was a quick 2 hours. We then checked into our hotel in downtown Had yai. Haha. When my pickup finally arrived, an old old man driving an old old car, I shared the short journey to ...

... was I aching the next day! I rented it for 2 hours, and ended up going out to the middle of the Andaman Sea absolutely getting thrown around by the crazy waves and nearly blown over by the gales of wind! I wanted to see what was past the trees, and it turns out there were more trees. It was beautiful, but I was beginning scream whilst paddling as I appeared to be on the only boat without a lifejacket, and it occured to me land was at least a 4 mile deep sea ...

The next day we went by bus to Hat Yai, before we got on the bus we went to some food stand to get some breakfast; it was wonderful, fried banana's and sticky rice with banana’s. I hope we will get this again soon. In Hat Yai we went around without any map or plan where to go to.We passed a school, where we had lunch and got lost somewhere in the center, where ...
