    ... as on edge as I was walking through Hat Yai. We got to the station and just sat there waiting for out train. Hat Yai station is a pretty busy one, probably seeming a lot more that way due to the fact it's such a small station. There were a few trains passing though which were heading for Bangkok, all were sleeper trains and so we had an idea of what ours would look like.     ... of making us feel like we were back in Malaysia again; but we did find a can of 100 plus!

    Phill wasn't entirely comfortable about coming here, given the ongoing warnings in the area regarding the insurgency in the deep south. However, I was keen to experience some of the sights in the area as best we could, before heading across to Satun province and the beaches on Koh Lipe for Christmas.

    ... the jetty the Thai guy said to wait on the steps and we would be leaving shortly, another girl was also taking the boat and walked straight past us and out to sea down the slippery wooden path to a waiting boat, we then realised what the Thai guy was doing, he was trying to keep us back for his passagers and delay our day, we left him on the beach with his empty boat ...
