This was because Detroit was empty. It was like a shell of a city. It had many large, abandoned buildings. There was a huge church with broken stained glass surrounded by a ghost town of a neighborhood. Like Gary, Detroit is suffering from the decline of the Rust Belt. It was dark, even though the sun was up and out. Today is very heavy.
